How often should gutters be done?
Once a year for most Sydney houses, and twice where there are gums or a big deciduous tree over the roof. If yours are clean when we get there we will tell you to leave it longer next time.
Can gutters contain asbestos?
They can. Cement sheet was used for eaves, fascia, downpipes and fences as well as walls, mostly in buildings from between 1945 and 1990. If anything up there is or might be cement sheet we stop and tell you, because pressure cleaning it is prohibited.
Where does the sludge go?
Into a bag and off the property. Wash water and gutter debris must not enter the stormwater system, and hosing a gutter out into the street is the easy version of a pollution offence rather than a shortcut.
Do you install gutter guard?
No. We clean gutters and we tell you honestly whether guard would help on your roof, which on a house under gums it often does not as much as people hope. There is no upsell waiting at the end of this job.
